Welcome to our class website. My name is Mr. Garron and for the rest of the year I will be the reading teacher. I am new to this class, but I have been at Franklin Academy since Year One. I have a reading endorsement from the State of Florida which means I have been specifically trained to teach this class. My number one priority is to see all students achieve success.
Students are placed in this class due to reading test scores. No student should be judged solely on these scores and often these scores can lead to apprehension, frustration and insecurity. My ultimate goal is to make reading fun in this class. It is an invaluable skill that will help all students throughout their lives. By teaching reading skills and practices I am sure that all my students will show improvement in this field and that by alleviating some of the frustration and fear attached to reading tests, my students' scores will also improve.
I welcome any parents to say hello. I believe parent-teacher communication is a hallmark of student success. Please let me know if you have any concerns about the class or your child's needs. Parents and students should follow along in the Daily Work Reading Class link above to know what is expected in the classroom and at home.
