We are now halfway through Chapter 9 on the Judicial Branch. Our test is scheduled for Feb. 9th, a Tuesday. A study guide should be prepared this weekend.
I have sat down with all students in class to discuss diagnostic results. Also, many students are also participating in some form of tutoring. Our diagnostic results overall were better than the state, county and other local schools. Even if your test was below the average there is no need to worry. I am seing most students working hard and making progress. In the past, I have seen a large amount of students struggle for most of the year but still past the final test. This material has a way of coming together in the next few months for students who have been engaging with it. Nobody should be worried or nervous at this point. We are back to a normal schedule, and back to learning new topics! Your test scores will hopefully be available to discuss tomorrow or Friday. We are now returning to study the judicial branch. I have attached a few documents that review the material we are covering the next couple of weeks on this topic.
We have spent the last two weeks in testing class periods and reviewing for our diagnostic. I have suggested using the floridastudents.org site to look at topics at home. I have been unable to post the review packet due to its size, for some reason it won't post even in smaller chunks. If you do need a packet I have more in my classroom.
I can probably send the packet to anyone via email as well. I am very excited to see you all again and to get back into studying Civics.
Our parent night is scheduled for this Thursday at 6pm. Also, we are having a diagnostic in Civics on January 19th. When we resume our studies we will be focusing on court cases and on Chapter 9 which is the judicial branch. I was unable to post or email the review packet due to its size, but I do have extra copies in class. |
